Every action requires a response. That response is a reaction. But an overreaction is the wrong response. Overreactions are emotional and uncontrolled. They rarely solve anything. They mostly exacerbate the issue at hand.
We overreact when we:
- Feel insecure
- Feel uncertain
- Are afraid
- Have not thought things through
- Are triggered
Overreactions steal control away from us.
