You can't control your life if you can't control your actions. You can't control your actions if you feel you're being pulled in all directions at once.
To start from a place of certainty you need time to recharge. Perversely physical work re-centers the body, recalibrates the senses and allows the mind to find itself as the brain processes physical, sensory data.
It doesn't matter what you do: chop some wood, go on a hike, clear the drive of snow, rake the garden, stack the shelves in the garage. Get physical. Get tired. Finish what you started. See what a difference it will make to the way you feel.
