Unplug and recharge

Contradictions in terms happen for a reason. The reason is that everything costs. Paying attention is expensive. As biological entities we don't have enough energy to be able to apply it equally, to everything, all the time. This is why training the brain requires us to be able to run an assessment of what we see and understand in order to prepare it for what comes next.

Occasionally things get too much. Knowing when to unplug in order to refocus and recharge is key to maintaining long-term aims, targets and plans.

If you cannot factor this into your own operational strategy (so to speak), you're setting yourself up to fail.
